The coffee shop wasn’t busy today, as there was only one or two people inline. The sound of coffee grinding filled Aaron’s ears, and the aroma of coffee and pastries filled is nose. It was a nice day since it wasn’t so crowded, but then again it wasn’t the morning so there wasn’t a morning rush. It was always the busiest from 6-9 am and 4-6 pm. Other than that it was pretty quit, except for when business men came in for a succinct meeting.
”I’m going to head out Aaron,” a faint voice said behind him. ”Bye,” he waved as he wiped his hands on his green apron. Aaron was the manager at Starbucks, which made him feel pretty good. He got respect, more the most part. New workers were never too kind, as they felt that they would run the coffee house. Wrong.
Besides wearing the apron, Aaron wore a basic black shirt, as it was mandatory, and jeans. They weren’t a loud to wear shorts or open-toed shoes to work, as it was a health violation or something. It was California, but that didn’t make a difference. Thank goodness for air condoning.
Aaron finished up a few orders, as he brewed some coffee, and made some frapichinos and such. It was a nice, easy day, and he was grateful. He had his break soon, but it wouldn’t be a big deal if he went off early since there weren’t many customers and there was lots of help in today.

Roxi had spent most of her day working out and running errands and she could really use a coffee right now. She had been up late the night before doing a photo shoot for a movie she had been working to promote and hadn't gotten home till late. And the next morning had come way too soon for her liking but what could you do. She was dressed down today, wearing a short cut off skirt with a belt and a midrise peach colored tank top. The sun was extremely hot today and she wanted as little clothes warming her body as possible. Of course a swim suit would have been the best choice but since she wasn't at the beach it wasn't a good idea to walk around town in a swim suit. So a skirt and tank top it was.
Her long curly dark hair fell down to the middle of her back, the top pulled back but her bangs still falling into her face. She strolled down the sidewalk of the boardwalk strip until she caught sight of a Starbucks not far off. As soon as she saw the sign she debated on going in or not because she was pretty sure that was the Starbucks Aaron worked at though it was hard to tell because there were Starbucks everywhere in LA. And she hadn't spoken to Aaron since the party when he had said he needed time to think.
Lately she had kept herself busy which kept her mind off of boys and she was glad for that. Boys usually just made things more complicated. Sighing as she finally decided to go in she walked across the almost empty store and went to the front to order her drink. Her light blue eyes caught sight of a dark haired guy with his back turned to her and she put her hands on the counter as she waited a moment, looking up at the menu overhead as she decided what she wanted.
"Can I get a frappucino please?" she asked, looking down at the small purse she had with her and digging out her wallet to pay for the drink.

Aaron didn’t even look to reply to the order. ”Coming up!” he exclaimed as he wrote her order on a clear cup with the Starbucks label. He handed it off to the other bistro worker and faced the lady who asked for the frappuchino. ”How may I help y-“ he stopped as his eyes found Roxi. ”You,” he gulped, finishing his sentence.
”I was going to uh, call you soon,” he said, wiping his hands on his apron. His palms began to sweat for some reason, as his stomach clenched. “Was she really here? “ was all he could think. He was going to call Roxi, to meet up with her, but she beat him to it. She looked fit, as always, and good in her short little shirt and peach colored top. He could barely get his mind straight, and his legs quivered.
The other bistro worker handed Aaron the drink to give Roxi. Normally the customer grabbed the drink after they paid, but the employee could see Aaron was in a hole. ”Here,” he said, handing her the cold drink. ”Anything else?” he sped, so it sounded like one word. Wow he was making himself look like a fool.

When Roxi raised her light blue eyes from looking at her wallet after she had pulled out a five dollar bill she realized that she was face to face with Aaron. Her mouth opened a bit and her pink lips rubbed together for a moment as she glanced down at her purse and replaced her wallet inside of it before looking back up at him. His words were soft and unsure and a corner of her mouth raised in a smile as she looked at him once more.
"Don't worry about it. That will be all." She replied, answering both of his questions in one breath as she handed him the five dollar bill. She had been starting to assume that since he hadn't called her at all that he had choosen Maddee over her. And as much as she hated the idea of seeing him with another girl she knew that eventually she would get over it and as long as he was happy then she would be happy for him.
"Keep the change." she added as she took the drink he offered her and then started to hand back her change. She grabbed a straw from the holders nearby and unwrapped it, throwing the wrapper in the trash before putting the straw in her drink. She wrapped her lips around it before taking a long sip of the cold beverage and then set it down on the counter in front of her. She didn't leave just yet because she wasn't sure if he was going to say he had choosen Maddee over her or if he was just going to pretend nothing had happened. Though she did put her purse over her arm as if she was preparing to leave, hoping to get him to spit out whatever it was he might have to say to her.

Aaron took the five dollars from Roxi and placed three of it in the cash register and two of it in the tips box. ”Thanks,” he replied to the tips. It was so weird seeing her; almost he had recently seen her at the party. He knew it was almost his break time, so he could go sit down with Roxi if he wanted to; and he wanted to alright.
Instead of chasing her to the counter and grabbed himself a croissant with the tongs and placed it inside of a napkin. He loved how working got him free food and beverages. He already had two coffees today, so he was set on drinks. A croissant was just the thing. It was so light and fluffy, with a hint of butter. He lifted up the counter, which was sort of a door in a way, and faced the customers who sat eating, drinking, and reading the newspaper. He was on the same side of the store as Roxi now, which gave him a easier advantage to talk to him.
”Hey,” he said, twiddling his thumbs; as it gave him something to focus on. ”I-I thought about it. I uh, how do I put this; chose you,” he said, with a faint smile on his face. He sat down on the stool next to her as she sipped her drink. He tore off a piece of the croissant and placed it in his mouth. Hopefully a bit of food would calm down his nerves. It helped for some odd reason.

When he came over to her side of the counter and sat down she guessed he wanted to talk to her so she too took a seat on a bar stool next to him, her fingers tracing the top of her cup before she picked it up and took another drink. The caffeine was getting into her blood stream and she didn't feel as tired as she had before. When he said he had chosen her she raised her eyebrows for a moment, keeping her light blue eyes locked on her cup. Finally she raised her gaze to look at him, a smile on her lips as she tilted her head a bit, taking him in.
"Why?" she asked simply. She wanted to know what had made him choose her over Maddee. Though she was glad at his choice she wanted to make sure that he had made the right choice and that he wanted her for the reasons she was hoping he wanted her for.
She crossed her legs at the ankles before turning her body so she was facing him, her head still tilted towards the counter a bit. Her long dark hair cascaded down her back while some of it fell in front of her shoulders. A sly smile remained on her face as she watched him squirm a bit, waiting for him to put his response into words.

”Why?” he asked back at her. ”Well, you were on my mind the whole time, so it was like a sign. Also, she was immature, and I didn’t” he paused as he took a bite to think, ”I didn’t see a future with her,” he stammered. He hoped Roxi would take him back, though she would probably be tentative, as anyone would. He pulled apart a bit of his croissant and chewed it, savoring the taste. Out of the pastries at Starbucks, this was probably his favorite. Sure there were doughnuts and such, but they got boring after a while, as the croissant was always there to greet his mouth with sweet flavors.
Aaron straightened his posture, as he was hunched over before. His eyes focused on the paintings behind her, though it seemed he was looking at her. He loved the art in Starbucks, as it was modern, yet had an older-vibe at the same time. Cozy, and welcome was what it was.
He focused on Roxi again, and how he knew he made the right choice. He said that the last time, but he was sure. If not, he would give up on girls altogether and go gay. Rainbow pride for the win. He watched Roxi as her ocean blue eyes pondered on him. She was probably making up her mind or something, but he hoped she would take him back. They weren’t even technically together, but he hoped they would be.

Roxi thought for a long moment, her mind wandering as she thought about all they had been through and all that had happened in the last couple of days. She knew that she really cared about Aaron and would probably end up taking him back but for the moment he would be on parole. He would have to prove himself before she would jump in with all she had. After all, the reason why she had such a past as slut who slept around was because she didn't want to get hurt. And when you put yourself out there then there was a very good chance you could get hurt.
"Alright." she replied simply, taking another drink of her beverage before turning to face the counter, resting his elbows on top of the counter before turning her head so she could still look at him. A smile was on her face as she looked at his reaction. Turning back to look down at her hands that were holding onto the sides of her drink she thought for a moment before speaking again.
"You're on parole though. So be prepared to prove yourself." she answered, looking over at him once more with a smirk still on her face. She knew he would prove himself. He was a really sweet and romantic guy. And she was glad that he had realized that an eighteen year old was much too young for him, a twenty two year old.

Aaron’s heart pumped as she said “alright.” It wasn’t a definite yes, nor a no. A maybe. He was on parole though, so he could be taking a test any minute. In fact she probably was already testing him. ”Roxi Ann May, will you go on a proper date with me?” he asked her, then and there. It was a start, at least. He finished her croissant with the last bite, which he savored, and crumpled up the napkin.
”So, how are you?” he asked, making small talk. Small talk was the way to conversations after all. Some music turned on, mostly Alicia Keyes. He didn’t really care for it, but the customers loved her. Aaron personally thought that light jazz would go well with the shop, though he didn’t like it that much either. It was a good day, from his perspective; so far.
ooc. Sorry for the short post. Very tired.

Roxi let a smile start to spread across her face as he asked her to go on a proper date with him. She tilted her head a bit as she looked like she was deep in thought even though she already had her answer decided. Finally shifting her light blue eyes so they were looking at him once more she nodded. Before taking another drink of her beverage as she listened to his next words.
"I've been alright, busy which is good. How about you?" she answered, asking him how he had been as well. It had been awhile since she had talked to him and she wasn't sure what he had been up to. Usually she talked to him over chat or he texted her or something so she was usually up to date on what he was doing but after the whole party scene she was eager to see how things had been going for him.

”I’m taking that as a yes,” he said slowly, as she smiled to the whole date concept. His gray eyes met her blue eyes for a second before he looked away. He would only make direct eye contact for a few seconds before looking away. It was just awkward, as then he thought he was staring at the person. Though, if he looked at the person’s ear, it bothered them as the person would think he was looking behind them.
”I’ve been good, just mostly relaxing, getting my head together and stuff,” he sighed, as he stuffed his hands into his jean pockets. Aaron had mostly just been working, both at Starbucks and at the auto shop. He preferred to work at the auto shop, as it was much more relaxing, and something he enjoyed. He put a smile on his face, as he rubbed his thighs through his jean pockets. He always like to have his hands doing something, wither it was twiddling his thumbs or rubbing his hands together.

Roxi nodded her head slowly as he explained what he had been doing lately. She knew that he liked working at the auto shop the best and he had taught her a thing or two about cars whenever she would stop by to see him. Reaching down she picked up her drink and finished it off before tossing the empty cup in a nearby trash can and then turning back to face him.
"Oh yeah, how's the auto shop?" she asked, knowing that he would immediately take an interest to that topic. She knew cars pretty well thanks to her father who had taken her to work at his auto shop when she was little. But she was glad that she had Aaron to help extend her knowledge of cars. She had always been more of a sexy tomboy than anything.

”Auto shop…auto shop,” he thought as he looked to the ceiling and put his thinking cap on. ”It’s good. I got a new boss though, instead of the old geezer. Allie Browning” he paused to think to make sure he got her name right. ”Allie Browning, singer and actress is now my new boss. She’s okay. I think she’s bipolar, I mean she’s nice, and then bossy a moment later,” he paused. Allie would probably end up being a good boss, but she was probably just getting things in order. After all, it was her first day.
”Want a free refill?” he asked emphasizing on the “free.” He could easily make her a free drink; on the house. Aaron actually liked making drinks, and by now he knew it like it was his second nature. It was in the back of his head, like he had it in the bag.

When he told her that there was a new boss at the auto shop she raised her eyebrows a bit, remembering the man that use to own the place when she use to stop by every now and then. He had been nice as she was sad that he had left but was sure the new boss was probably just as nice.
"I see. And thanks but I'm alright for now." she replied, answering both of her questions. Her coffee had given her the energy boost she had needed and had made her more motivated to get the rest of the things she had to do that day done.

”Less work for me,” he joked. Making coffee was simple, but then he would have to get up and go around the counter and such. Too much work for one drink. ”Anything else new?” he asked, leading the small talk session. He wasn’t too good at small talk, but it was an important thing to be good at since it comes in handy often. He was out of ideas of what to talk about, since there really wasn’t that much to chat about, after all. ”So, no dessert?” he asked, thinking about a doughnut or pastry. Then again, she might take it the wrong way and think that he was the dessert.
