It had been a gorgeous day to go to the beach today. The sun was shinning bright and it was hotter then usual. It was about mid-afternoon maybe around 2. Chloe could barely wait to get her tan on. Then dip her toes in the wet squishy sand. She hadn't been to the beach much since she came to LA. So, she decided to take a break from work and just chill for a little bit.
Chloe walked onto the hot dry sand with her worn out flip flops she only wore to the beach. In one of her hands was a lawn chair to sit out on. In the other was a beach bag with a towel, some tanning oil, her ipod, and her phone. Chloe wore a designer brown and white striped bikini. In her hair was a beautiful flower that was tucked behind her ear.
She had found the perfect spot to settle at. It was mid beach with a small amount of pedestrianizes around. Plus, the sun had been shinning down pretty good in this spot. Chloe un-folded her lawn chair and set it in the dry sand. She sat in it while digging through her bag. Her light brown rounded eyes roamed around the beach seeing if she recognized anyone. No one. She sighed beneath her lips. She continued to dig through her beach bag.

Jack had arrived at the beach mid afternoon. It was a beautiful day, almost too perfect. The sun was beating down on his already tanned skin as he walked shirtless trying to find a place to lay out. He had just gotten back from visiting his mother in Salinas, CA and he needed some down time to recoup with everything that's going on around him.
Jack was wearing a pair of O'neill white trunks with random lines of sky blue and black. On his feet he wore his favorite pair of black crocs, simple beach attire. He had been looking around for someone he knew, or an empty spot for him to set up camp. He found a empty spot with few people around who were lounging out like he had planned to do.
He laid out his towel on the warm sand and set his black drawstring bag on the side next to him. He took of his crocs, and sat up on the towel, grabbing the sunscreen and his bottle of water. He peered around through his aviators, and thought he saw a familiar face. Once he had put on some sunscreen and let it dry, he walked over to the shoreline and stuck his foot in. The water was cool, it was perfect. He dove under water, getting his hair wet. He came up for a breath, and shook out his hair, grabbing his aviators that were about to fall off.
He put them back on, and began the short walk to shore, he could still taste the salt water in his mouth. He looked to his left and saw a girl laying out by herself, she looked around his age and was brown haired. As he moved closer, he noticed that he knew the girl - It was one of his ex's from high school, Chloe. He looked around, and then decided to speak "Chloe?" he asked making sure it was actually her, he hadn't seen her since graduation. |

Chloe had finally found the tanning oil that had been buried in her beach bag. She poured a decent amount of it in the palm of her hand. She began to spread it all around her body. Although it was difficult to reach the back she managed. The sun blazed on her making her whole body warm. The sun just wanted to make Chloe fall asleep. She really enjoyed soaking up the sun. Chloe pulled out her ipod leaving one ear bud out. Some ofher favorite songs started to play.
A familiar voice spoke her name. She looked around and spotted Jack. Her heart skipped a beat. Jack had been her ex boyfriend. They dated for about a year and six months. Chloe hadn't seen him around lately. It almost seemed as if it had been forever. A smile grew on Chloe's face and her cheeks turned into a slight pink. Her light rounded brown eyes looked up studying him. He was still the same adorable Jack he had always been. She wondered if he had changed any. Chloe did some what. "Yeah?She replied to him. Her soft sweet smile remained on her face as she looked up at him.

As she spoke, he placed his hand on the back of his head "It's Jack, Remember? High School? We dated for a while?" he rubbed the back of his head a bit and then he chuckled. "You have to remember me" he said taking off his glasses. He looked and examined her, she looked the same as she did back in high school, still gorgeous of course. "How've you been? When did you move out here to L.A.? he asked, not knowing that she moved out here. He doesn't remember, but he thought that was why they broke up, he wanted to live his life in L.A. and she didn't. He doesn't remember at all, though.

Chloe began to laugh hysterically at Jack. "How could I forget?"Chloe said with a soft smile. "I would give you a hug but, I have tanning oil all over me."Chloe added to her other comment. Was he crazy? How could Chloe forget one of her sweetest exes. Chloe examined him once more and her smile continued to grow. "I've been really good. My career as a fashion designer is really taking off. I decided that I had to do what i felt was best for me. And that was to follow my heart and become a fashion designer. Yourself?Chloe asked while she stood up from her chair. "Want to take a walk and maybe get a bite to eat in a little bit to catch up?"Chloe asked with a slight smirk across her face. She had missed Jack some what. They were always good friends. She was curious to know how he was doing and how his life was. Chloe stood in front of him feeling pretty short. Her light brown eyes gazed up at him as she waited for his response.

Jack laughed at her, "No worries, im wet anyways." he made a face and then put his glasses back on. He smiled as she spoke about her career, and then nodded impressed. "Wow, a bit time fashion designer? Way to go." he smiled at her and then shrugged, "Uhh, i'm a model now. One of the top male models, actually. And i'm an aspiring singer." he laughed a bit and then looked at her, "Yeah, sure. Sounds great! I'm starving, lunch would be perfect." he smiled at her.

Chloe smiled up at him "Wow. Maybe we will get to work with each other sometime. I can't believe I use to date a model."Chloe said with a grin. She was very happy to hear Jack was doing so well. Chloe missed Jack and those silly highschool days. Her thin legs began to pace slowly along the shore line. The wet sand squished between her toes. "Lunch it is then! Gosh Jack, it's been forever."Chloe said while nodding her head. "I missed you!" Chloe confessed with an innocent smile. She was excited she was getting to spend the day with Jack. They had alot to catch up on.

Jack laughed a bit, "I cant believe I dated a top fashion designer." he smiled at her and then nodded in agreement, "Yeah, I know! It's been way to long, I can't wait to hear about how you've been and everything." he smiled, and looked over at the beach. "Where should we go for lunch?" He pondered his own question, he wasn't one for sea food, and he didn't want to go anywhere fancy. Maybe just some bar on the board walk where he could get a killer burger and a beer. He was kind of excited to be able to spend is remaining day off at the beach, soaking in some sun, but catching up with Chloe would be fun, and equally as relaxing.

Chloe smiled while her cheeks became a little pink from blushing. "The same Chloe's still here. Just different."Chloe said while she looked down at her body and stuff. She wore a grin on her face. There were so many questions she wanted to ask Jack. She could hardly believe he was a model. That was a pretty big deal. It impressed her greatly. "Same here. Your still so adorable, Jack."Chloe confessed with a smirk on her face. She looked back to her spot where her clothes were. "I think just a cheeseburger and tea sounds good right now."Chloe suggested with a grin on her face. She slipped on her denim shorts and baggy white tank top with her flip flops. She shuffled her way back to Jack. Chloe looked up at him curious to know what he had been thinking.

Jack smiled at her, "That was exactly what i was thinking!" he saw her get her clothes on and he did the same, slipping on his white v-neck and black crocs. He packed up all of his belongings, and then turned around, waiting for her. He smiled at her a bit, when she came back to him. "Where would you like to go?" he asked curiously, beginning to walk over to pier area. He didn't know many restaurants but he knew of one really good bar, Luckys, that had the best burgers.

Chloe smiled at Jack. She removed a strand of hair out of her face. She tied her hair back into a messy cute bun. She figured she didn't have to impress Jack. "Really? I love Lucky's! They have such good food."Chloe suggested with a grin on her face. She gathered her things and held the beach bag to her side as she began to walk with Jack. It had been so long since they had talked. Chloe didn't think she would see Jack unless she visited back home. They had a high school thing. But, who knows that same spark could be there between them. Whenever Jack use to kiss her, her heart would skip beats. It was almost like every kiss seemed to be like the first. You know, when your stomach is filled with butterflies and you can't help but to grin while you sit there thinking about it, playing it in slow motion. Chloe always loved everything about Jack. She loved his dimples that showed when he would smile at her. And his eyes were gorgeous. Just everything about Jack made her heart melt into little pieces. Chloe would always take Jack just the way he was. Because, she liked him best like that. At least it use to anyways. Chloe gathered her thoughts and waited for Jack's response.

Jack nodded in agreement, "Lucky's sounds amazing." he smiled and headed towards the little pub. He placed his hands in his pocket, "So, what's new with you? Has anything changed?" he looked over at her, with his hands still in his pockets. He missed Chloe, she was easy to talk to and she always knew how to help Jack when he needed. She was still beautiful, as always, he couldn't help but wonder if she had maybe changed in her personality at all. He hoped she didnt, she was perfect the way she was. He loved her for how real she was, he admired her for that.

Chloe walked beside Jack feeling a bit short. Chloe grinned when he asked her if anything new had happened. "Not really. Just a bit more mature and a little more stressed out. But, personality and other things, I'm going to have to say no. You?"Chloe asked with a smile on her face. She was surprised things weren't awkward. They had picked up a conversation just like they would have in High School. Chloe sighed quietly from under her lips. Her light brown eyes gazed up at him as he spoke. She couldn't help but to smile when she was with Jack. It was just kind of natural. Chloe was so happy at the moment. Seeing Jack had made her day even better then it was planned out. She always loved life and lived it up. But, not crazy clubbing or anything. She was the same innocent sweet Chloe as always. Sometimes she still even got a bit shy. She would look up for a couple of seconds then smile with teeth showing and then put her hand near her mouth when she looked at a boy she had liked. Chloe put her thumbs in the end of her pockets as she walked side by side with Jack.

Jack smiled as she spoke, "Being stressed out isn't a good thing, you should do yoga, or get a massage!" he smiled at her and then shrugged a bit, "Nothing really.." he tried to think of things that had changed with Jack. "Just more rich and popular I suppose." he smiled a bit at his comment. He didn't mean to bring money and popularity into the conversation, but thats all that had really changed in him. He looked around and then finally spotted Lucky's he took a sharp left, and then smiled at the hostess, "Table for two, please." he waited for the hostess to show them to their table. She led them to the back to a secluded-ish booth. He sat on one side and looked at the menu, then at Chloe.

Chloe laughed a bit as he mentioned some things. A smile was plastered on her face, "Maybe a slight more cocky?" She teased at him. Chloe knew where he was coming from. It was just the same for her as well. Chloe followed him into Lucky's. She sat in the seat across from him. A slight smile was spread across her face as she browsed the menu that offered so much food. "It almost seems like it was yesterday we were in high school. Its just so weird to run into you like this."Chloe spoke with a slight smirk on her face. She hated akward silences so she thought of something to talk about. Even if it really random. But, what she said was true. It was like it was yesterday since they talking in the halls of their old school. Chloe gathered her thoughts and ordered an ice tea. It was one of her favorites. Chloe looked at the menu wondering what she was going to get.
