Chance had went to pick up Charlotte like he planned and when he pulled up into his driveway and shut off the engine to his new 2011 black and yellow Chevy Camaro he climbed out before helping her out and then locking the car behind them. As they made their way up the front steps towards the door he unlocked it and swung it open before letting her step inside first. He entered after her and closed the door to the large beach house mansion before locking it again.
The sun had already set but the whole back wall of the house was covered in large windows that looked out over the back porch and the beach and private cove the Caine estate consisted of. As well as a couple miles of beach on either side of their house. Chance's father liked his privacy. The house was softly lit and he showed her around quickly before ending back in the living room. He then escorted her to the kitchen so they could get something to eat.
"So what would you like for dinner my dear?" he asked her, opening up the fridge and cabinets so she could see everything they had. Their house was always well stocked up on food and beverages as well as liquor and alcohol.
"Care for a drink?" he added as he opened the liquor cabinet that contained rum, vodka and all other kinds of alcohol as well as drink mixes. He knew she was underage but only by a year and it wouldn't be that big of a deal if she just had one drink. That is if she even wanted one.

His estate was massive, what did he do for a living that he would not speak about? He opened the front door for her, revealing more space and intricate detailing inside the house. "Oh my goodness, this house is a work of art." She smiled as she spotted a painting in the corner. "I read about these, theyre extremely expensive." It was stunning to be able to see an original with her own eyes.
He asked her what she wanted for dinner and she shrugged her shoulders. "Microwaveable pizza?" She asked as she shook her head when he offered her an alcoholic beverage. "No thank you, I dont drink." She laughed, she never drank and didnt plan on it when she was older either.
Chance really did live up to his expectations that he set for himself when he was a young boy, saying how he was going to make it famous and be rich and famous. "Did you ever get your helicopter pad?" She asked teasingly remembering a drawing he showed her in elementary school.

Chance grinned broadly when she suggested they have microwavable pizza for dinner. He remembered how they would eat it when they came home from school when they were younger. They would always split one because they weren't allowed to ruin their appetites for dinner. When she said no to the alcohol he nodded before shutting the cabinet and going to the fridge and freezer. He pulled out the pizza before popping two in the microwave and punching in the time before hitting start.
"What would you like to drink? Soda, water, lemonade, Gatorade. . ." he trailed off as he listed the drinks they had in the fridge. His light blue eyes glanced over his shoulder to look at her as he waited for her reply.
It was so weird to be hanging out with her again. Especially now after it had been so long. She had changed so much and yet still remained the same. It was odd but he didn't doubt that he was the same way for her. When she asked him about his helicopter pad he laughed as he too remembered the drawing he had proudly showed her, of the helicopter pad he was going to have on top of his house so he could fly where ever he wanted, whenever he wanted.
"Nah, I'm still workin' on that one. So what have you been doing these past few years? Did you finally decide what you wanted to be when you grew up?" he asked her, giving her a teasing wink as he remembered how he would always make fun of her because she couldn't decide what she wanted to do with her life. He had been set on being famous whether he was an actor or a pro football player, it didn't matter.

"I cant believe you actually have it, I was kidding but Im fine with that. And water sounds great please." She smiled, walking to the french doors that opened the the beach. "Ive been writing and reading... alot. I have so much poetry and short stories written that my office is a mess! I really am thinking about becoming an author or going back to the acting industry as I did have a knack for that." She winked.
She tugged on the handle to the back porch. "Mind if I go out back?" She asked looking at him and then the beach, admiring the waves and the personal space he had. There were acres of private land for him to just spend time on. She thought about it and came to a conclusion that Chance must be really lonely sometimes living in a big house like this.

Chance smiled and got her a bottle of water before pulling out a light blue Gatorade for himself. He opened the cap and took a drink before putting the cap back on. As she spoke of being an author or becoming an actress again he smiled, watching her make her way towards the back door. When she asked to go outside he nodded and followed her across the house before heading out the back door behind her.
"Well ya know how I couldn't decide between football and acting. I finished high school and was going to go onto play college ball but decided acting was more my thing. So I went back to that, got a few big roles in some major movies and hit it pretty big. Plus my dad still owns that massive cooperation. He stays in New York most of the time though because that's where his company is centered out of." he replied, his light blue eyes filling with a bit of sadness at the thought that his jerk of a father would rather be all the way across the country from his kid, well kids now that he found out he had a half sister.
He never talked to anyone except Charlotte about his father. She knew everything. She knew about how his father was never home and how he use to be a good day when his mother was alive but now stayed away. Charlotte was his best friend. And it was all coming back to him. He wasn't trying to be his normal big shot celebrity flirt with her. He was just being real. Being himself. It was a refreshing feeling to be able to not worry about what people thought for once.

"Do you remember we used to play flag football at our elementary school down the road. Those were the days, you let me borrow your war paint and I bought my own jersey that had my name on the back." She leaned against the railing of the porch overlooking the sun that was setting.
"I can definitely see you are extremely popular with this and all." She said gesturing towards the vacant beach that was probably overcrowded with guests and friends and random strangers on party nights. The thought of a massive party seemed fun but she really wasnt known as the type of girl to be seen at a party. Her image wasnt known as pretty nor popular so she really was never invited to those crazy and famous parties.
"Hows that pizza coming?" She asked as she looked inside from where they had came from to see the microwave finished. "Need some help with that? It could be kind of messy..." She teased as she made her way back inside the house and opened the door to the microwave, taking out the pizza.

Chance smiled and nodded in agreement with her words. His own mind flashing back to when they had been in elementary school. Lots of the kids would get together at recess and in pe and play flag football. They all took it very seriously as well, the boys wore their pop warner jerseys to school on the days they would play and the few girls that played as well bought their own jerseys and put their names on the back.
"Yeah I remember that. I also remembering punching some kid in the stomach cause he was making fun of you for putting my pop warner number on the back of your jersey too." he added, a soft laugh rising from his chest as he came up to stand next to her on the back porch, a small gap in between them. His light blue eyes gazed out at the ocean in front of the and the stars that shone off the surface of the water before looking over at her.
"Yeah sure, you know me. Always making a mess." he added as she turned and headed back into the house. Pulling the pizza out of the microwave he got down plates while she put them on them and set them on the counter near two stools. Chance walked around the counter to the chair and sat down on it, his Gatorade sitting in front of his plate. They ate their pizza in silence for the most part though it wasn't awkward, just silent.
When they were finished Chance picked up her plate and his and put them in the dishwasher before taking a long drink of his Gatorade. He came back over to her side of the counter and smiled before looking down at her with his light blue eyes.
"Come with me, I wanna show you something." he said, a spark in his eyes as he took her hand in his and led her up the stairs and down the hallway to his bedroom. Once inside he closed the door and brought her over to the back wall of his bedroom that was completely covered from the high ceiling to the floor in a curtain. A smile was on his face still as he looked over at her before pulling the curtains back and leading her out onto the balcony that came off the back of the house overlooking the beach and the ocean behind the house.
A smile was on his lips as he gazed out at the vast ocean with the stars shining both in the sky and in the water making it hard to tell where the ocean ended and the sky began. The moon was half way full and cast a dim light down on everything but still left the world dark enough to have some mystery to what might lay in the shadows. Chance put a hand on the small of her back as he took a couple steps forward until they were standing at the railing. His hands rested on top of the railing as he stood next to her, his light blue eyes glancing over at her as he looked at her reaction.

"That kid was such a bully..." She complained, but remembered the day when Chance punched Ian Hemmings; one of the biggest bullies in elementary school. "I still have the jersey." She did, and it hung in the back of her closet by some of her old little girl dresses.
The pizza was ready and she sat down next to him, letting the pizza cool for awhile before picking it up and eating it, her stomach now content and full. They did not talk much during dinner but she didnt mind, silence was nice every once in awhile and she always took the opportunity for silence. Once finished, he cleared the plates as he put them in the sink.
He then spoke and said he wanted to show her something as he took her hand and led her up the stairs to a bedroom. He opened the door and walked to the back of the room as he opened a great curtain to the side revealing a massive bay window that when she stepped outside, overlooked the ocean.
It was remarkable as the torch lights below that lined the beach cast a soft glow as the stars and the moon also contributed a nice lighting to the scene. His hand moved to her back as he guided her to the deck railing. "Wow, it's gorgeous... its like a dream. Thanks for sharing this view with me." She smiled as she looked at him with a half smile.

When she smiled at the view his own smile broadened and he looked out over the ocean and the beach once more before turning his gaze to look at her. When she spoke he nodded, not taking his light blue eyes off of her.
"Yeah. . . it is." he added, speaking softly as he shifted his gaze to look at the railing for a moment but then return to her. A smile was still on his face as he took her in. The light evening breeze blew her long blonde hair out of her face and her blue eyes shone in the lights from all around them. One side of his face raised into a smile again as he continued to look at her, missing the times that they had spent together when they were younger. Back then nothing mattered. They were just friends that told each other everything and though they had both grown up, he wondered if they would ever be able to get back to that.

They looked at the ocean and at one another for some time before she broke the ice. "If I lived here, I would be out here just suntanning and reading my books all stacked up next to me." She laughed, her books. They were always the focal point in her life. Without books there was no Charlotte. Books created and shaped her entire being.
"Make sure that when I am a millionaire that you let me stay here for awhile, then I can steal the blue print plans for your house so I can steal the design okay?" She joked as she placed her hand ontop of his that was on the railing.

Chance grinned broadly at her words and turned to look back out over the ocean for a bit longer. He could picture her just lounging out on one of the chairs he had on the balcony near the hot tub with her books all spread out on the end table, the sun shining down on her and a light breeze blowing back her hair as she reads.
When her hand touched his he smiled once more and looked down at their hands before shifting his light blue eyes to look at her face once more. He wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her to his side. The night air was cool and he held her gently against him for a moment before letting her go, not wanting to push anything or make things awkward since they hadn't seen each other in a long time. He put his hands back on the railing before looking down at his hands for a moment before glancing over at her, a smile raising one side of his mouth.

He pulled her to his side for a second before releasing her, she laughed a little at his playful humor. Out of the corner of her eye she saw a football lying lamely on the ground of the deck in the corner. She lunged forward and grabbed the football, kicking off her sandals and sprinting for the secluded beach. "Come on Chance, for old times sake..." She teased him, walking and talking backwards before tripping over a branch just lying aimlessly on the ground. Loosing her balance, she fell on her butt and she just began to laugh as she felt the sand on her thighs that were unprotected by her jean shorts. Slowly standing back up she twirled the ball in her hand, her fingers feeling the rough pigskin.
”Catch!” She yelled as she gripped the ball, her fingers on the laces before winding her arms back and snapping it forward, the ball not a perfect spiral… but close enough straight to Chance. ”Come on, make a touch down…” She joked as she tied her hair up in a messy bun on top of her head.

Chance laughed as she fell down and then laughed as well. She jumped up to her feet quickly though before moving around like she was a pro football player. She threw the football at him and he caught it easily and tucked it under his arm as he prepared to run towards her, pretending she was the defense. He put his hand out like he was blocking, twisting and turning until he got in front of her. His light blue eyes watched her while a smile remained on his face and then he swerved around her and ran a couple feet behind her, before he held the ball up in the air as if he scored a touchdown.
"Touchdown baby!" he shouted as he did a victory dance. When he was finished he cocked his arm back and threw a spiral right to her before getting down like he was a defensive lineman getting ready to tackle her. His light blue eyes stayed locked on her as he waited to see what she would do.
"Let's see what ya got Cook." he called to her, a smile on his face as he called her by her last name like he used to do all the time.

He dodged right by her, his moves still good. She laughed and mimicked his victory dance. When he challenged her she cocked one eye brow and placed her hand on her hip. "You really should move." She said as she tucked her ball under her arm and began to run right at him.
She spooked him suddenly and just broke out into a one armed front handspring, before doing a backflip, smacking the ball on the ground as she landed. "Heck yeah!" She cheered as she did the running man in place before looking at him and then sprinting in the ocean. "Oh my gosh its so warm..." She said as she waded into the ocean deep, as you couldnt not see her hamstrings any more.

Chance laughed as she did gymnastics around him and scored a 'touchdown' and did a victory dance as well. When she went to the water he followed her, wading in beside her. He wore a sly smirk as his light blue eyes gazed out at the ocean before turning to look over at her. He remained still for a long time before finally taking action.
In one quick motion he had picked her up in his strong arms and dunked her under the water before pulling her right back up out of the water again. He stood up, the water up to his knees, still cradling her in his arms though she was completely drenched now. A sly yet proud grin was on his face as he looked down at her, knowing she would get revenge on him.
