Gemma had been busy all week with the fashion show that had been taking place in Paris that week. She had been out of town for that and had just now gotten back. Now she was ready to have some fun and let loose. Work had been crazy but crazy in a good way. She loved her job but she was glad to be done running around like crazy and definitely wanted some time to relax.
She hadn't talked to Danny in forever either and wasn't sure what he had been up to but she looked forward to see him sometime soon. She was still curious to learn more about what they had started the other night when they had both been a bit drunk. She had pressed the matter but her mind kept thinking about it.
Now she had just gotten dressed and was heading out to the boardwalk to do whatever she felt like. She was hoping to run into some of her friends or possibly make some new ones, either way it didn't matter to her, she just wanted something to do. Plus she was hoping on going out that night and having fun, possibly getting a bit intoxicated in the process but who knew what would happen from there.

Dallas walked out of his apartment and began walking towards Starbucks. It'd been a late night and he could use a pick me up right about now. With his laptop slung to his back, he began day dreaming about his Hazelnut Coffee with a shot of Expresso.
Two doors down he saw Gemma walking up the street. At first she had a confused look on her face, and then she relaxed. She was practically a sister to Dallas, so even if he couldn't tell what she was thinking...he knew she was thinking about something...or more specifically, someone.
She must have been oblivious because she didn't even see him when they got closer. 'Well, this could be entertaining' Dallas thought to himself. As he approached her, he quieted his footsteps to make himself a little less obvious.
When she was less then a foot away, he practically screamed "EARTH TO GEMMA, DO WE HAVE CONTACT?" He let out a little laugh after, waiting to see her reaction. She would probably punch him, or call him obscene names.

Gemma was lost in her thoughts when she heard a loud voice behind her. She jumped, startled by the sudden loudness and almost dropped her purse but was able to hold onto it as she spun around to face the person that had scared her. A smile instantly spread across her face when she laid eyes on Dallas. She hadn't seen the boy in forever and he was like an older brother to her, she could tell him anything.
"Dallas, where have you been all my life!?" she exclaimed dramatically as she wrapped her arms around him and hugged him before letting go of him and putting her purse onto her shoulder. She suddenly remembered that he had scared her and she hated being scared and he knew that.
"You little dick, don't scare me like that!" she added with fake anger on her face as she punched him in the arm. A smile crossed her face once more as she was very glad to see him. She was in desperate need of quality friend time and he was definitely one of her best friends.

Dallas pretended to wince as she punched him playfully in the arm. Putting on his best 'I'm so hurt' look, he exclaimed "Oww Gemma, why do you have to be so abusive?" as he fake rubbed his should where she'd punched him. He was glad to see Gemma, she was one of his best friends and it had been too long since they last got together.
"Tell me you have some free time right now, please. I'm headed to grab a coffee at Starbucks if you're interested in joining." He said, hoping she'd except his offer even though it was very last minute. He loved hanging out with Gemma, and she always had a way of leaving him in a better mood than when they first met up.
Plus, he felt like he could talk to Gemma about anything. She never really judged him on his stupid decisions. He could rant to her about his noisy cat-loving neighbors, the novels he's been writing but will never finish, and even girls if he needed to. Likewise, she could talk to him about anything in her life, and he would never judge her. He truly did love Gemma like she was a part of his own family, only better, since he and his family haven't exactly been on the best of terms since he fled Las Vegas.

She laughed as he acted like she had actually hurt though she knew she hadn't. She probably couldn't even if she tried. When he invited her to come have coffee with him at Starbucks she smiled and nodded before turning so she was standing beside them, hooking her arm around his as if they were from the movie the Wizard of Oz.
"Of course! I always have time for you Dallas De'Luca." she replied with a sweet smile on her face as she glanced over at him before heading down the street towards the coffee shop.

"That's what I like to hear." He smiled, looping his arm with Gemma in a familiar gesture. Starbucks was only a few shop fronts down from his apartment building, so they arrived at their destination in less then a minute. Dallas waited patiently in line, this Starbucks could really be considered his second home, after all, he worked here, and was a regular, why not sleep here too?
As they neared the front counter, Dallas called out "I'll take a Venti with a shot of hazelnut and espresso. And how about you, Gemma?" Dallas asked, smiling at down at truly his best friend. It would be good to catch up on things today.

Gemma walked dramatically to the shop before waiting in line until it was there turn. She scanned the menu as he ordered and then turned her light green gaze to the lady working the register and ordered a strawberry banana smoothie with a smile as she thought about her favorite drink.
They took a seat at one of the small tables in the shop as they waited for their drinks. Gemma rested an elbow on top of the table before putting her chin in her hand as she glanced out the window before turning back to look at him.
"So what's new in the wonderfully fabulous life of Dallas Mark De'Luca?" she asked, making it sound dramatic and flashy, a teasing grin on her face as she watched him, waiting for his response.

Dallas loved the view from his favorite seat, the one in the the corner but at the front of the shop. The large picture frame window created a wonderful looking landscape of downtown Los Angeles, complete with a constant mirage of tourists, stars, and the rest of the average folks. He instantly hooked up his laptop, which he'd been carrying in a black Jeep brand bag. The computer was a black and green Toshiba, nothing fancy, but he didn't need anything fancy. He refrained from turning it on though, and instead answered Gemma happily.
"Oh you know, this and that. Writing the next great American novel, meeting a few new people, and of course, saving the world." Dallas grinned, noticing a few giggling girls outside the window snapping pictures of his model friend. Gemma was so down to earth that it was easy to forgot her growing popularity in the model industry. "And how about you? What goes on in the glamorous life of Gemma Lane Marcella? Oh and by the way, you've got fans." Dallas joked, pointing to the entourage outside the window.

Gemma smiled as he explained what he had been up to lately and when he said she had fans she turned to look out the window at the group of girls taking her picture. She gave them a sweet smile and waved to them before turning her attention back to Dallas as she crossed her arms and set them on top of the table, leaning towards him a bit.
"Well I haven't been to busy lately, just got finished with a fashion show in Paris and now I have some down time before my next shoot." she explained, thinking over the last two weeks of her life.

"Dallas, your order's up" a familiar voice called from behind the counter. Quickly, he got to the counter and placed two dollars in the tip jar, grabbing his and Gemma's drinks. By the time he got back to the table, the crowd that had formed outside had dispersed. Gemma might like her picture being taken, after all, she IS a model, but he preferred to avoid it.
Setting her smoothie down in front of her, he smiled at his friend. "Where are you off to next, then? Probably Japan or Milan or some other exotic place, lucky you." Dallas chuckled a little bit. He was a bit envious of all the traveling she got to do, he would like to see the world someday, but not just yet. "Anyway, I haven't seen you in forever. There must be more going on then, well...just work! I can't every picture your life that boring, Gem." Dallas through out, teasingly.

Gemma thanked him when he returned with her drink and when he asked her where she was going on her next trip she had to think about it before remembering that it was another fashion show next month that actually was in Milan. A sudden idea popped into her head and she got a huge grin on her face.
"I'm going to Milan next month for a smaller fashion show, you should come with me! They will pay for my hotel room but you can stay with me cause they always get me a huge suite with plenty of space! It would be awesome cause you could go sight seeing and stuff to get inspiration for your book while I am working during the day and then at night we can hit the town and have fun! It's perfect!" she exclaimed a bit louder than she intended as her eyes grew as she thought about how fun it would be to be in a new city with one of her best friends.

Dallas smiled at the idea, and thought about it for a while before sighing. "I'd love to, but I can't leave Bailey all alone, you know. And I have no clue who'd take care of him. But it's such an amazing opportunity I'd kill myself if I missed it. When do you leave? I'll have to try and figure something out."
Milan sounded amazing. He'd only been out of the country once- Ireland with his Grandfather as a child. But Milan was in Italy, and he was Italian...It had always been his dream to see the homeland of his heritage. For a minute, he though about another Italian he knew, Isabella.
"Oh yeah, and I finally think I met a girl worth getting to know, Gemma. Other than you, of course." He flashed her a huge grin. How could life get more perfect? Beautiful Dog, perfect best friend, cute-maybe-interested girl, and now possibly even Milan? That was just too good to be true.

Gemma grinned when he agreed to go with her. It would be even more fun with him because then she wouldn't have to be stuck with all of the catty girls that were models as well. They were great and all but you could only be surrounded by other girls for so long before the claws start to come out. At the mention of his dog Bailey she remembered her little dog Frankie.
"Well if you can't find someone you can always take Bailey to the doggy hotel place that Frankie goes to when I am out of town. It's awesome." she replied with another smile as she took a drink of her smoothie. She was extremely excited now and couldn't wait to leave.
"Of course." she replied as he spoke of another girl he had met that was worth getting to know other than her. She raised her eyebrows playfully as he spoke, sipping through her straw once more.

"I completely forgot about that place. And hey, Bailey does love Frankie, even if he your dog is ten times smaller than mine." Dallas laughed, Bailey was the weirdest dog, honestly. "But I would love to see Milan...I've always wanted to go." He blew on the edge of his coffee cup, and took a long, slow sip pondering all the possibilities. He'd seen pictures of the beautiful architecture and the amazing scenery, and he couldn't even imagine how wonderful the place must be.
"And yeah...Bella. She's Italian, which is why Milan reminded me of her. But how about you? Not to snoop, I just think having a nice boy to keep you tethered to reality while the modeling agencies send you into space would be helpful, maybe." Dallas winked. Of course it was a joke, Gemma might be a model- and and amazing one at that, but she was still an wonderful person, and she handled herself with grace and dignity in the public eye. He was a little in awe of her ability to stay so grounded, actually.

Gemma smiled when he spoke about their dogs and let her mouth hang open in fake disbelief as she looked at him.
"Don't make fun of little Frankie, he can't help that he was a Rottweiler born into the body of a Yorkie." she replied teasingly as she took another drink of her smoothie while he spoke of the girl he had met. She was glad that he had found a girl but she couldn't help but feel a little sad that he might get a girlfriend and then not have time for her anymore but she shrugged it off and tried to remain optimistic as she usually did.
When he asked her if there was a guy in her life she laughed a bit before shrugging. There really weren't any guys interested in her at the moment which she didn't care. She had her two best guy friends, Dallas and Danny so she at least had male company.
"No guys to report right now." she replied as she took another drink of her smoothie, almost half way gone now.
