He finally connect the dots because she saw this light go off in his head. Almost, like a strike of lightning, pretty marvelous actually. "You don't get to leave without me speaking!" She said a little enraged that he was going to leave. "I have worked too damn hard for too damn long to be walked out on like this. Our son was just killed, I was dying and you want to walk away?" She screamed.
"For hours on end Id try to remember every time you told me you loved me. You know how many times, one! And every single day I would tell you and do you know what I would get? Nothing!" She sat up, pulling some machinery with her. "If you loved me as much as alcohol well... We wouldn't be in this mess!" She got out of her bed.
"Sitting here unable to see you is painful but to know that you are with someone else, is all the more excruciating. Too much." She said as she held onto the edge of the bed. "Danny!" She screamed as she needed some help. "Remember Austin... I love you and I will fight for you no matter what. I will never, ever stop loving you. Now just go!" She said as she tried to stabilize herself.

Austin was a bit surprised when Noelle got so mad but he didn't say a word as she yelled at him, knowing that he deserved everything that she had coming for him. He had broken her heart, hurt her and countless other things. She was better off without him. When she was done talking he headed towards the door, knowing she was done with him. But right before he walked out he turned back to face her with sadness in his eyes.
"I love you Noelle. . . and I would have married you. . ." he replied, referring to the baby, though he would have married her even if she wasn't pregnant just maybe not as soon. Reaching into his leather jacket pocket, he pulled out a small black velvet box and opened it before looking down at the good sized diamond ring he had been carrying around for awhile. Glancing back up at her once more he set the open box down on a nearby table so she could see the ring inside and then walked out the door and disappearing from her sight.

Danny was sitting on the edge of his seat, his hands folded together so tightly that his knuckles where a pale white color, the skin stretched too far over the skin. He stared down at the single blue square on the white tile floor, not moving, not blinking and very slowly breathing. Like someone who just landed in an ice cold swimming pool. Suddenly, his attention was torn away from drifting into space as he heard what sounded like a chair being pushed across the floor and his name.
With little to no time at all, he jumped up, slammed into the room, rushed past Austin, and held onto Noelle's wrists, trying to steady her. "Easy, Noelle. Come on, just get back in bed sweetie. Come on, calm down." He tried to say in a soft tone, but it coming out like daggers. The fire inside him was bubbling up, and about to overflow. He had never seen Noelle angry, and he knew she must have been in pain from getting out of bed with the wires taped all over her arms and stomach. All that machinery on her. He watched Austin leave and rolled his eyes at the comment he made before looking back at his friend. "Are you okay?"

Marriage? Austin wasn't the kind of guy for marriage. He said his last words and left the ring on the table. Noelle was shocked that he had just left with such an open ending that was wafting in the air. Danny helped her back into her bed and asked her if she was okay. "Just give me the ring..." She said as she shakily pointed to the ring. He was long gone and she knew for sure now.

He sighed and picked up the box, wincing slightly at it before handing it to her and sitting down in the spot Austin was previously sitting at. He sighed and looked at the ground, sitting in the exact same position he was outside in the hallway.
Hands folded together, face blank, mind adrift, slow breaths.
He thought of Noelle, how sweet and beautiful she was. How she always smiled when she spoke to someone, no matter what her actual mood was. How she tried never to do wrong unless she wanted to cause serious damage. How she was so generous and could not wait to see her friends or her boyfriend. He sighed and shook his head. Why would anyone like that, deserve something like this to them?

Noelle took the ring out of the box and placed it on her left hand ring finger. "I'm never going to take it off..." As she stretched her hand out to examine the ring, a small smile on her face as the story had just begun.
Ooc: Closed.
