Noelle was putting the finishing make up touches on her mother who was sitting in front of the vanity mirror. Tonight there was this big together on the football field and all the players were going to be there with their families. You guessed it, Noelle was going. Her mother who had been out of her life for nearly 8 years had decided to show up yesterday and had been crashing at Noelle's place since.
Dabbling blush onto her mothers cheeks she made sure to cover up the bruise under her eye. "I cant be your mother because you look stunning right now." Noelle smiled and smoothed the blush out with her fingers before reaching for her peach coloured lip gloss. "Thank you." As she put the wand to her mothers lips. It was really awkward to be doing her mothers makeup, but her mother had asked her nicely and all Noelle wanted to do was help.
"Is your hair naturally like that?" Her mother asked as she reached up to touch Noelle's hair. "Yes." Noelle tried to keep their conversations short because it was really awkward and there was nothing to talk about really other than Noelle. That was all her mother would talk about, Noelle and how she had grown up and blah blah blah.
For the evening, Noelle was wearing a white dress that was tight fitting and had a slit down the middle, accented with a black strap and the top of the dress was embezzled with diamonds. Cameras and a lot of other famous guests were there and she was excited for Austin and her father to actually have a serious conversation that didnt really consist of football. She was even excited to meet Austins parents, if they were coming. Austin really hadnt spoken if they were or not but at least he was going to meet her mother. "Finished, we should go. Dad is waiting." As Noelle helped her mother out of her chair and led her onto the baseball field.
The grass had been transformed as a wooden floor had been placed ontop and there was dancing and food. It was the type of floor that you could pick up and carry off for an installment of wood. She thought it was clever for her father to do something like this. "Hey dad." Noelle said as she hugged her father. "Looking sharp." She smiled as her father spoke, "So where is this lucky fella?" Noelle shook her head. "I dont know, probably doing some type of crazy interview. He is really busy for a girl like me." As she looked around for Austin.

Austin was already at the football stadium though he was alone unlike the rest of the team. His parents were great parents and all but they could be really selfish. Austin had moved to LA on his own and his parents lived as far away from LA as they could get. And they hated traveling so the only way he got to see them was if he went there which usually only happened during Christmas time. He didn't mind too much though but at events like these where everyone brought there parents it would be nice to have his there but there was nothing he could do about it now.
There were only a select few reporters here so he didn't have to worry about getting bombarded by the press which was nice. He was talking to one reporter at the moment, telling her about their last game and how they were hoping on going all the way to the Super Bowl this year. When she thanked him he left her and strolled casually through the crowds of people, saying hi to the players and sometimes stopping to be introduced to their parents and having to explain that his parents couldn't make it.
Finally his eyes caught sight of Noelle and her family and a smile crossed his face as he headed towards them, hands in his pockets. When he reached them he greeted all of them before leaning over and giving Noelle a quick kiss before stepping back so he was standing in front of the family.

"Hey Austin!" Noelle cheered as she kissed Austin before he stood infront of her parents. "Austin, this is my mother Mary and you know my father Ronald." Noelle gestured from her mother and father to Austin. "Mom this is my boyfriend Austin." She introduced to her mother who immediately grabbed Austins hand. "Fine looking man you are, it is very nice to meet you." Mary smiled as she pat his hand before taking Noelles hand and placing his in hers as she retreated alongside her ex-husband.
"Austin is one of my very best players. Young and energetic and very dedicated to football. I think he eats, breathes, and sleeps football. Its hard enough for these two to date! He truly is a fine man." Mr. McShay said as he shook Austins hand firmly. "Mind joining me to get some drinks while these two talk?" Mr. McShay asked as he reached a hand to Austins shoulder as he guided him to the table. "Least to say my boy is that, Noelle's mother is not the best role model around and I want you to know that if Noelle begins to act strange, just comfort her. We havent been able to have the best time trying to get her mother back into the picture and her mother is a... cougar to say. Dont let her try and seduce you... worked on me." He laughed as he fixed his tie and poured a drink for Mary as he handed an empty glass for Austin to fill.

Austin smiled and shook both her mother and her father's hands before following her father over to the drinks table as he explained about Noelle's mother. He nodded understandingly before taking the empty glass and filling one for Noelle and one for him before glancing over his shoulder at Noelle and her mother.
Her mother didn't seem like much of a cougar, he thought but shrugged it off figuring that he wouldn't be alone with her or anything so he shouldn't have to worry.

As Austin and her father went to fetch drinks, her and her mother stood awkwardly in silence for awhile before her mother spoke. "How do you keep a man like that under control?" She asked as Noelle responded, "He is his own and be controls how own actions. I trust him that he will be coming home to call me and not some other girl."
Surprised at her answer, Mary nodded and tsked her tongue. "Have you slept with him?" Noelle jumped at the question. Uhm, I think that is a little too-" Her mother interrupting her, "Virgin were we now? She asked. Noelle was amazed that her own mother would care to be so blunt towards her. "I really think that this isnt the place to be..." But Austin and her father reapproached them.

Austin and Noelle's father came back over to them with their drinks in their hands. He handed the other one he had to Noelle before taking a drink of his and putting his other hand in his pocket. The whole event was very well planned out and he had to admit he was having fun.
His gaze shifted around to look at everyone, unsure of what to say in front of her parents. He didn't want them to think poorly of him but he didn't know what to say either. Finally he turned to her dad and decided to play it safe and talk about football.
"So coach, what do you think we should do about the offensive line to get them ready for the next game? Landon was lookin' a little loose in the last game. We gotta tighten that end up or we could be in trouble." he said, turning his light blue eyes on the coach.

Noelle smoothed out her dress and took the glass Austin had poured for her, he was so thoughtful pouring her apple cider considering she didnt drink. She wrapped an arm around Austins waist. "You look very handsome." She said in a whisper tone as Austin talked to her father about the last game and the fact that they had a lot of holes which weakened their defense structure.
Mr. McShay began to speak, "I understand where you are coming from but there was something going on last week in the locker room but I dont know. We were all fine and then as if on instant, people began purposely messing up which was really weird. Landon got a concussion last game so he was a bit off and wouldnt sit out but he is a tough-" But mother McShay interrupted. "I dont understand the point of football, how does it go again?" She asked as she reached out to rub Austins arm. "Explain it to me?" She asked with a pat as she returned her head to her side. Noelle snickered and looked at her dad who was laughing as well before giving her an 'okay' sign with his fingers. They both knew that at this point, Austin would choose a young and youthful girl over an old woman who had more plastic surgeries than she could remember.

Austin smiled a bit awkwardly as Noelle's mother asked him what the point of football was. It was hard to explain and would take a lot longer than he had so he took a drink of his beverage before speaking.
"It's kind of hard to explain." he replied before glancing at Noelle and Noelle's father for help on getting out of this specific conversation.

Noelle had to admit that it was amusing to watch her mother hit on her boyfriend with no luck. It was like trying to lift 10 pounds with your pinky finger... Impossible. Austin seemed a bit uncomfortable as Noelle drank her cider waiting for the right moment as he looked at her, pleading for some help. "Just get the ball to the other end mom. It is really easy, we should definitely play sometime." As she gave her a warm smile which was ruined by her mothers darting glare.
"I'm pretty sure I asked him Noelle Jane." Her mother responded with a bossy and taunting tone. While her father tried to calm him wife down away from the two, Noelle was glad for some piece and quiet.
"So where are your parents?" She asked as she finished her drink, the empty glass in one hand. She began to laugh as she looked at her mom. "I'm sorry. If this makes you feel better, she does this to everyone!" Noelle was trying to make a humorous joke. "Lighten up baby, I won't leave you. I'll be stealthy and sexy like one of those protective lioness' " Kissing him on the corner of his lip. "Gotta keep it professional.

Austin laughed but was a bit glad when her father escorted her mother away from them for the moment and he finished the rest of his drink before raising his eyebrows for a moment.
"Yeah I can see that." he replied teasingly as he took her empty cup from her and set it on a nearby table. When she kissed him really quickly on the corner of the mouth he smiled and wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her to his side, wishing that they weren't in public so they could get a little closer.

"Yeah, my mom is a wreck! I mean, do you think when I get old I'll end up looking shriveled and ugly like her?" She asked with a serious tone implied throughout. "All that plastic surgery, smoking and drinking is just horrid to her." Noelle muzzled her head into his side when he pulled her close.
"I mean, I approve plastic surgery because I want to have it but the rest is a definite no for me." As she watched her mom and dad talk it out. "When will I meet your parents or do they not know I exist?" She asked him. Austin rarely spoke of his family and she really wanted to meet them. After all, it would be weird to be in a relationship and not have met both sets of parents.

Austin got a bit serious when she brought up his parents and glanced over at her parents before looking at the ground and then looking back up at her once more.
"My parents live far away and aren't involved in my life very much. I moved here on my own when I went to college here and then just stayed here when I got drafted into the NFL. They don't come see me ever. I go there for Christmas sometimes but that's about it." he explained, his gaze continuing to shift to the ground as he spoke.

"Oh wow Austin, I'm really sorry. This gathering must not be the best for you then." Noelle hit herself in the forehead with the heel of her hand. "I'm so careless these days!" As her mother and father reproached. "It appears my wife is now interested in another young man." Mr. McShay laughed as Noelle did as well.
She took Austins hand and led him to where the football players were lined up with their girlfriends, fiancée and wives. The announcer spoke. "For charity tonight here is the game. Every player has a minute to shoot a ball at this target and land in the basket beneath. There are 7 baskets, each 20 yards out." Noelle was so delighted with anything that had to do with charity as she coaxed Austin to participate. "Ladies, kisses but not for misses. Each shot your man makes is a kiss." Now Noelle really wanted him to join.

As the announcer explained how to play the game they had set up Austin listened carefully before nodding slowly to show that he understood how the game worked. Then the announcer asked who wanted to play and he glanced over at Noelle who looked rather excited for him to play so he stepped forward with about seven or eight other players as well.

Austin was such a good man, she really was lucky to have found him. He understood her really well it seemed. She cheered and clapped along with the other ladies as they cheered their men on. Noelle laughed as she watched Austin stretch out his arms, she could see his muscular definition through the dress shirt. She could definitely see why she liked him other than his personality, he had a killer body.
He was third in line as Noelle had small talk with other ladies before it was Austins turn. Kisses and money donated to charity were great reasons to get involved in her opinion. The referee blew his whistle which signaled Austin to begin throwing the footballs at the targets. His buddies, coach and the girls all cheered him on to keep his confidence up.
