Andrew absentmindedly chewed on a small red straw as he wrote down the names of the employees and listed what they did. He was proud to be the owner of the local Starbucks. He came in at least once every day, even weekends, to check up on everything and even visit with some of the employees. A lot of the regular customers knew him by Mr. Stone, and all the employees where told to call him Andrew. He was very friendly to people, which is what kept the customers coming back along with the perfectly blended coffee and friendly hard-working employees. For as quiet as he usually was, he was kind of strict when it came to hiring and firing people. He would give you an intense interview then show you how to run everything and he gave you one week to prove yourself or he would fire you.
He stood at the end of the counter, leaned up against it in front of the extra cups and straws so he would stay out of the others way. He wrote down the last few names so he would be sure who to promote and who to demote later on in the week. It was a monday morning, so he expected it to be a bit slow but he knew that as the afternoon progressed and the highschool down the street let out then teens would be filling up the mall and going into the medium sized coffee shop with glass windows and a classic look. The colors of brown, tan, and beige was the main theme and if you worked at starbucks, you would have to be forced to get used to the scent of strong coffee- especially if you went to the back room where the boxes of suppy and other tools where.
He smiled at two customers who walked in, one of them carrying a laptop- an average sight to see in a quiet place like this. He put the pencil he used behind his ear and smiled. "Welcome to Starbucks."
