It was a scorching ninety two degrees out as Eloise drove around the down town city of Los Angeles in her convertible. For a few hours, her and her good friend Abby would get to be rebonding with a few of their close girls from their old sorority. Eloise was looking forward to a nice time but occasionally meeting with her sorority was tough because mostly it ended in fist fights, hair pulling and spilled tea.
Her sorority was laid back and at their distance apart and unattended, knew that many of the girls would be too busy or lazy to put in the effort to get dressed. One, being Eloise. Today she just wore some skinny dark wash jeans and a white tshirt in which graciously a matching lace tanktop poked out from underneath the edge of the shirt. Constantly going back and forth between blonde and brunette, for this month she tried to stay blonde as much as possible, embracing her natural color.
Her aviator sunglasses covered her hazel eyes as her French manicured hands glided across the steering wheel, her Delta Delta Delta ring sparkling under the right attention of light. The music was on, but not too loud as she needed to focus in this horrendous traffic. "Hey Abs, want to grab some coffee and then head up there?" She asked as she merged into the left lane to turn, her indicator flashing before she pulled into the crowded parking lot. Finally, hidden among the brands of cars she carefully pulled into a spot before taking out the keys and placing them in her purse.

The wind blew Abby’s hair around as she sat in the passenger’s seat of the convertible, a nice way to beat the heat of Los Angeles. She kept her hands on her lap to keep her skirt from flapping up and flashing the passing vehicles. She was excited to see all of her Tri Delta sorority members, though she had really only kept in touch with Eloise, whom she was sitting beside in the convertible.
The Delta Delta Delta song kept replaying through Abby’s head, as she hummed to it.
Delta Delta Delta, We will always love you With a love that always will be true, With three bright stars a-shining And colors three entwining, Delta Delta Delta, we love you. Tri Delta, you will always be A sign of love and friendship, Of true sincerity, And we will always cherish Mem'ries that will linger In our hearts forever. Mem'ries of our sisterhood so true, And in the years that follow We will n'er forget you, Delta Delta Delta, we love you, Delta Delta Delta, we love you.
It was just a cute song, but more classier than the Cappa’s who’s was just trashy. She hadn’t seen her other sorority members for years, but that didn’t mean she didn’t like them, just which they lost staying in touch. All Abigail was worried about was looking okay, as many of the girls judged a book by the cover, and she meant that literally since she was an author and all.
Abby wore an ecru tank top with tiny black polka-dots on it, loosely tucked into a black skirt with a silver studded black belt. She wanted to wear a pair of dark wash jeans, but it was much too hot to wear those. Her golden hair was down, except for a piece that was braided and pulled back and clipped with a bobby pin.
She glossed her lips as she smacked then together and looked in the rearview mirror. ”Coffee sounds great!” Abs agreed as she picked at her fingernail, which was painted jade black, her favorite color of polish.

"Good, got to keep that gorgeous skin of yours hydrated!" Eloise said as she reached for the handle and opened the car door, a pair of open-toed white pumps touching the blazing concrete. Eloise enjoyed pairing laid back clothing with stylish shoes to show more dimension in her style. Letting her bag rest on the crook of her arm she looked both ways before crossing the parking lot and onto the other side as she stood underneath the awning before holding open the door for Abby as they both entered Starbucks.
Cool and ventilated, Eloise took off her sunglasses and slipped them on her shirt. The line was quite long, but it gave Eloise plenty of time to choose what drink she wanted that day. It also gave her the chance to talk to Abby. "I cant believe I actually convinced myself to come all the way out here." Eloise was a bit worried again as thoughts of fighting clouded her positive thoughts. Behind them in line she could hear these two people whispering and Eloise turned around to see who it was. "Would you mind keeping it down. Not everyone wants to know what you did last night." With a purse of her lips it was her turn to order.
Hands balanced on the counter and looking up at the barista board she finally made her decision. "Passion fruit iced tea, hold the lemon, extra sweetened." As she reached into her purse to grab her Loui Vuitton wallet as she opened the bill compartment and pulled out a five dollar bill, crisp and fresh out of the machine. A return of a dollar, Eloise shoved it in the tip jar for friendliness sake before walking around the entire line of people to wait at the pick up side. While she waited as there were a few people ahead of her still, she decided to make more small talk. "So, I heard you have a thing with Chance..." Eloise laughed and pulled out her Blackberry, "Gossip Girl is too fast for us these days.".

Abby looked at her skin as Eloise said that she needed to keep it hydrated. It was starting to turn a very light shade of pink, which meant a sunburn was coming on and that her skin would dry out. She hadn’t lived in Los Angeles for too long, about a couple of years, and in New York there was never a reason to wear sunscreen because the buildings blocked all of the sunlight and kept it shady. Abby also didn't like sun block because it made her skin so oily and slick. ”I know, ugh! Look at this!” she said, pointing to her shoulder blade. She believed that there was a tube of sunscreen in her purse, but it was highly unlikely, as there was probably only lotion with a little bit of sun block in it.
Abigail grabbed the handle and pulled it to unlock her door as she then pushed it and stepped out of the car. She closed the door and turned on the heels of her new Miu Miu heels, which were black and strappy. Abby began to walk away before she remembered that she had forgotten her purse, in which she turned back around and leaned over the car door and grabbed her rounded Louis Vuitton checkered bag that were two different shades of brown. She held it in her hand as she tried to run in heels to catch up with Eloise.
Starbucks was air conditioned, which felt perfect since it was blazing hot outside. Abby looked at the menu that was hung about the counter as she decided on what to get. She normally got a latte, but it was too hot today to get one. A Frappuccino would suite her well as it was cold, and milkshake like. ”Well it’s good you did, I missed you,” she said with a warm smile.
After Eloise ordered Abs ordered next after Eloise paid. ”Light caramel Frappuccino please, no whip cream, but the rest of the topping could stay. Thank you,” she smiled, to make up for her picky order. She was very precise about the things she ate, as no meal or beverage shall go to waste. Abby searched through her purse, trying to find her wallet with all of her gift cards. She handed the barista a gift card, and waited for her to swipe it, and then she could know how much money was left on it. When the employee swiped it she told Abby that there was a balance of twenty two seventy five left on it. Abby nodded as she stuffed it in her wallet and then dropped it in her purse and walked to the counter where the workers placed all of the ordered drinks.
Abby was a bit startled when Eloise brought up Chance; he had only given her a “friendly” kiss. ”I don’t have a thing with Chance, we’re just very close friends, that’s all,” she said, stating the truth and only the truth. Finally the waitress called her name and Eloise’s as she picked up her Frappuccino off of the counter, feeling the coolness of the drink cool off her drink. She took a sip through the straw, as she was content with her beverage.

"Oh Abby like I havent heard that before." Eloise said as she added some more sugar to her drink at the condiments bar along with taking a complimentary miniature blueberry muffin. Using her back to open the door once more she climbed back into her car, placing her venti sized drink in the cup holder and placing her sunglasses back on her eyes before starting the car once more.
The drive from Starbucks to their Tri-Delta house was fairly short but it was a nice sunny drive right down past the beach. Stopping at minimal red lights, Eloise would see familiar people she recognized, she even saw another Tri-Delta sister on her way. "Hey honey, I'll see you there!" She called. Being a Tri-Delta was hard and definite upkeep as you had such a high image to maintain within yourself and other people. Your sisters, if one gave you a bad name, all had a bad name. What to do with a sister like that? Terminate.
Inching up into a tight parking spot, Eloise squeezed out of the car before shutting the door, reaching in her back seat to get her purse as she let it sit on the crook of her shoulder. She locked her car door before crossing the parking lot structure to their sorority house which was currently occupied by current Tri-Deltas. Opening the door she walked into the lobby to a group of Tri-Deltas and they all screamed and hugged one another. Eloise had to be careful not to claw anyone with her acrilics but she was successful in scratching someone probably.
After all the hugging was finished, Eloise stood in the middle of the group. "Okay girls, as President of Tri-Delta, sorority class of 2010 and forever, we have some serious news to work on. Our dearly beloved Kappa's are planning on some big barbecue bash, so we need to make an appearance, this Wednesday. So Tri-Delta's, we have to bring our all!" Eloise clapped her hands to encourage the girls. "Delta Delta Delta, we love you!" As she pointed to the girls to echo her call.

”Well, truth is, between you, me, and Gossip Girl… we’re dating!” she squealed, feeling nice to tell someone besides herself for once. It all happened to fast, but love is a strange thing, as it could happen very slowly, or very fast. Abby noticed Eloise take a complimentary muffin, but Abby decided against it as she was still full from her breakfast she had made that morning, which was scrambled eggs with cheese, cilantro, and extra pepper.
Abs followed Eloise out the door and to the car, feeling the difference from the heat and the air conditioned shop. She hopped in the car and fastened her seatbelt before setting her Gucci tortoise shell sunglasses on the bridge of her nose. The aroma of the ocean breeze was in the air, as Abby spotted some surfer boys walk to the beach, and little kids carrying pales and shovels in her tiny hands. She waved to the fellow sorority sister as Eloise called to her.
Why did she park in such a tight spot? Abby wondered as she tried to not hit the car parked next to her with the door. This time she remembered to grab her purse, as she held it tightly in her hand, her sunglasses on her nose, and she flipped her hand with her hand. She felt her braid in her hair as she walked behind Eloise to the sorority house. She looked both ways as she scurried to the other side of the lot, closer to the door of the house.
Abby screamed with the other members of the sorority as she hugged all of her fellow sisters and friends, giving each one a kiss on the check and telling them they hadn’t aged at all. This wasn’t a lie because they looked the same, except some girls got faux spray tans, and dyed their hair and such. Some girls had slimmed down, since it took them a while to burn off the Freshman Fifteen, though others seemed to have gained it again. Some girls cooed over Abby’s book, telling her she had done a great job, in which in a reply Abigail blushed and smiled, thanking them for reading it.
When Eloise stood, Abby sat down on a ottoman, sharing it with a few other girls, squeezing their bottoms together as there were more people seated on it then possible. She nodded to what Eloise was saying, as Tri-Deltas were much better than the Kappa’s who’s rhyme went: Here comes the Kappa, queen of the row. She's hip, she's cool, she ain't no ho. She's got style, she's got class, and from behind a Bitchin' ass in which they would all slap their butts. Abby echoed back, chanting ”Delta Delta Delta, we love YOU!” and clapped with the rest of the girls.
