Paige managed to convince herself to get out of her apartment after staying in for way too long. Not that it took much when she felt like going to the beach. It was like her safe haven, a home away from home. She quickly changed into a white bikini and threw some clothes on over it. Grabbing her bag, already packed with a towel, a book, and sunglasses, she darted out the door. She hated having to adjust to the sunlight. It always seemed more painful then it actually was, well, that's what she had sunglasses for. As she started walking she put them on and sighed with relief at being able to see once again. It didn't take her long to get to the beach and a smile crept onto her face as soon as she was there. It was where she belonged. Picking a spot away from everyone else, she pulled out her towel and laid it in the sand. Next was her book. She always had her nose in a book since what seemed like the day she was born. This was what her kind of a perfect day was.

Matthew was currently walking around in the sand, occasionally picking up a stone and throwing it in the water. He loved the beach. He had a bottle of cola in one hand and was throwing stones with the other. He smiled as he managed to skim the water several times. He turned and kept walking, not looking where he was going. He ended up tripping over someone. He sat up and looked over at the ash blonde female. "Oh god, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to trip over you!" he got up, brushing himself down and picking the book back up for the lady. "Again, I'm sorry" he apologized, smiling lightly.

Alicia arrived at the beach to relax on this nice day. The sun was out and it was a perfect to work on her tan. She was already tan but, a nice touch up but be nice. Alicia was wearing a white and brown stripped bikini. Her bottoms were all brown though. She wore her hair in a messy bun. Theres wasn't any make-up caked on her face. Tanning oil covered her body. In her hand was a beach bag containing alot of supplies that was needed for the beach.
Alicia looked around debating where to settle down at. She saw a blonde girl and a man. That seemed like a nice spot to hang out. Hopefully, they didn't mind her company. Alicia strolled over to them. She planted a lawn chair besides the blonde. "Hey, I'm Alicia. I hope you don't mind my company. This just seemed like a nice spot to lay in the sand." Alicia said with a sweet smile on her lips. She prayed they didn't mind and were friendly people. Her rounded brown eyes scanned around the beach before sliding onto her law chair.

Paige was startled by the man who had just tripped over her. She looked up as he apologized and handed her her book back. "It's fine. Don't worry about it." she smiled, taking her book. She made eye contact but then quickly diverted her eyes, reverting back to her shy self. Yet she didn't need to worry about it for long because they were joined by another girl. "Nice to meet you. I'm Paige," she said, extending her hand. She marked the page in her book where she was even though it might have been an easy escape for her.

Matthew smiled as she turned shy. "No need to be shy around me!" he stated, laughing lightly. He turned as he saw another female speak. She introduced herself as Alicia and then the female he had just tripped over introduced herself. Matt pursed his lips. "Nice to meet you Paige and Alicia, I'm Matthew." he smiled, "Mind if I join you?" he asked Paige, standing near Paige's legs, kicking sand away. Yup, he loved the beach, even if the sand irritated him, he'd still roll around wet in it.

Paige smiled ever so slightly as he called her out on her shyness. No one normally did that, they just didn't care. Nice to meet you too. Of course you can join us," she said. It never really occurred to Paige how few people she knew her in California because she was always keeping to herself. It was nice having people around but she didn't mind being by herself either. Taking a deep breath in, loving the smell of the beach, she sat up with her knees bent and her arms over them. "Feel free to sit if you want," she said to Matthew, offering the other end of her towel. Normally, she wouldn't even bring a towel because she loved the feeling of the sand but today was out of the ordinary.

Matt smiled when she offered a place for him to sit. He took it, sitting on her towel. "Thanks Paige" he smiled. He picked up a near by stick and started playing with the sand, entranced by it for reasons unknown. Matthew was definitely a strange guy when it came to sand. "So what are you doing out here on your own?" he asked, flicking the sand with his toes. "I thought beaches were a place to hang with friends and stuff" he scratched the back of his head, laughing.

Paige shrugged when he asked why she was here by herself. She wasn't about to tell him that she didn't really know anyone here to begin with. "I like coming here by myself more than with other people, I guess. It's kind of a place for me to just get away," she finally told him. It wasn't a lie. She really did feel that this place was an escape. Even during college when she would actually have people to go with, she would still normally go by herself. "What about you then?" she asked, diverting the attention away from herself.
